Back last Friday from wonderful Palma Nova. The Hawaii Hotel was ok for a 3*. Location is fantastic. Reception was clean and bright. We found staff were not very welcoming apart from 1 girl on reception and the PR girl. Staff in the dining room were not very helpful at all. Food was often lukewarm - and that was going in when the doors opened, not after the food had been sitting for a while. They were very slow at clearing tables for other diners, we often saw people having to clear the tables themselves. The kitchen staff on the other hand were always filling up trays of food as they became empty. We were half board and had to pay for drinks in the dining room. We only drank water which was dear for a small bottle - we made one do between two of us.
We had a sea view room that looked over the beaches, and also Palma Nova and Torrenova - it was lovely at night to see the street, shop and hotel lights shining on the sea. The room was a good size and beds were comfortable. Rooms were cleaned regularly and beds made daily. Considering the area you are in once you close the balcony doors at night you can't hear any noise outside. There is no extra charge for air conditioning, as there is in some hotels. The only other charge we had at the hotel was for a safe deposit box - something I wouldn't be without.
One thing they don't tell you at the hotel is that there is a lift down to the pool area and this can also be used to go to the beach and promenade into Palma Nova. This avoids the steep hill and was very welcome especially coming back to the hotel.
For those who are interested, English speaking TV is two channels - BBC World News and Sky News.
Hotel is in an ideal location for Torrenova, Palma Nova and Magaluf.
