| We always use Atlas Direct and find their prices really competitive. Just wondered if anyone had any others i could get quotes from although the way i look at it you dont really know how good your insurance is until you have to use it/make a claim I have just done my stepsons insurance for 2 weeks in Salou for £11.00 which is a good price but now have to do ours for September |

| Hi Tracey,
I usually do a search on here https://www.moneysupermarket.com/travel-insurance/search?hp1.x=126&hp1.y=26.
I enter my details and see what the quotes are like, I usually pay a slightly higher premium for the policies withy better levels of cover.

| I am with Flexicoverdirect they had the best price for the level of cover I wanted but as you said you never know how good their level of service is until you have a claim, which luckilly we haven't

| I agree, with Atlas i normally select "gold" cover and the prices are good and like you we have never had to use it yet,we have also renewed our Health Cards this year. I will have a look now at Flexi Cover to check like for like policys. |

| I have been with Direct Travel Insurance for over 15 years.I have an Annual Policy though they do Single Trip policies. Our premiums went up quite steeply when we both passed age 65 (most insurers cane us Silvertops) but I have stayed loyal to them.In our time with them I have had 2 claims both were for Holiday Cancellations. One through the death of a close family member (my Mum) and the other through illness (I had to have an urgent knee op). They settled both claims without quibble once I produced the requested proofs.I cannot recommend them highly enough. Not to be confused with Direct Line. They do business by telephone. No branches. |

If you are happy with the price and level of cover with Atlas you may be just as well with them.
I only chose Flexi Cover as they were the best deal at the time, I have also used Insure and Go who had in the past offered best value at the time.

| I had an annual policy with Direct one year as well but found the premiiums to renew were a bit steep.
I tend to find when my annual policy is due for renewal I will get a renewal offer claiming to save 30% or so but always find it is cheaper to get the same insurance with the same level of cover by going online and getting a new quote.

| Once my annual policy expires at the end of the year I intend to take up an offer from my bank. For a fee of £10 a month (normally £12.50 for new customers) they provide these benefits
Holidays – annual worldwide* family multi-trip travel insurance for you and your family, including winter sports Car – breakdown cover, even if your car won’t start at home Mobiles and gadgets – cover for up to three gadgets, including phones, cameras, MP3 players and more
Identity Protection Alert – insurance to help prevent and deal with the effects of fraud and identity theft
Exclusive discounts – access to our exclusive rewards website for discounts on travel, leisure and high street shopping
Lots more – preferential rates on our linked Signature Savings Account and a discount on our standard rate for arranged overdrafts
Many banks do similar offers and may be worth looking into.

| I use Money Supermarket for a search, then select from there, not the cheapest, that will normally come with a £200 excess fee, I look for about £50 excess if poss. This year we paid £57 for annual worldwide multi trip cover, inc USA & Caribbean. Pretty good methinks |
